Ultravation UV intensity is 40% greater directly due to their T3 UV Lamp technology. The Philips/Signify lamps are encased in water­tight transparent quartz sleeves that insulates the lamps from cold discharge air temperatures and maintains the optimal internal surface temperature of each lamp.  The lamp output intensity is raised with much lower power consumption, thus extending the lamp life from 9,000 hours (one-year lamp life) to 18,00 hours (2-year lamp life).
